Adding props and products to frames

Step-by-step guide to adding products and props to your storyboards

Written by Karen Mc Guinness

Props and products make your storyboards more accurate, relevant, and realistic. By uploading the actual items you’re showcasing - like a client’s product - you can place them directly into scenes where characters interact with them naturally.

Not only is it visually engaging but it also clearly demonstrates how the product fits into real situations and everyday interactions, helping viewers understand its use and context.

Adding Props and Products to a Scene

Open your storyboard and switch to Generator View.

Select Generate image.

Select Add reference images.

Choose Upload image and upload the product or prop from your device.

Generating a Scene

Props can be used on their own or alongside characters. Select the uploaded product, along with any characters you’d like to include in the image.

Write a description of the image you'd like to generate.

Props can be placed directly on characters, like headphones or clothing items, or used in the environment, like a product displayed on a table. You can also combine props with multiple characters to show group interactions.

Click Generate to create the image. If you’re happy with the result, click Save to add it to the frame. If not, click Discard and try again.

👆 Note: AI image credits are only used an image is saved to a storyboard.

Props and products bring your storyboards to life, presenting items exactly as they’re used in real situations. By highlighting how people interact with actual products, you can clearly convey their purpose and context.

Whether a product is being demonstrated, discussed, or celebrated, props help your scenes feel complete and realistic.
